Hi All
I really hope you can help me with this.
I have a MSI (yes I regret it) K8T Neo mobo – when I try to install Vista it wont see my SATA Hard drives. First I tried loading the promise drivers (Promise fast track 376/378) and it didn’t even see the drivers. Second I tried copying the Win XP drivers to the root directory of the floppy – it saw them but when I selected the Promise fast track 376/378 driver to in stall it gave me the message that there is not the correct driver or the driver is not on the disk. Third I tried downloading the updated drivers from MSI and repeated one and two with those drivers. And lastly – AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.
These drivers work fine with Win XP as I have just installed on a second hard drive and had to install them on the F6 prompt.
Any help would be really appreciated.

Promise Rade drivers won't install!!!
Hello,
Delete the textsetup.oem file from the root of the floppy and the drivers will load. I had to do that with my ASUS motherboard with the same Promise chipset (FastTrak 376)
Doing as above worked for me.
HTH!

Thanks for the post Rythan but it didn’t work.
I always get the message: “The [WinXP Promise FastTrack 376/378 ™ Controller (A:\fasttx2k.INF)] device driver could not be installed. Make sure the driver files are correct and located on the driver instillation media.”
I know that it is the right disk and that it is not corrupt as I have just installed Win XP on another drive using this disk. Not sure where to go from here as I seem to have tried all I can find on line.
Any suggestions would be really appreciated!!!

Excellent, deleting the textsetup.oem was the key

I'm in the same sinking Vista boat as Reb, as my Soltek S754 board has a Fastrack 579 SATA controller (basically a tertiary IDE controller) and offers up the same message as what Reb is getting. I have followed every suggestion, just as Reb has, and we have no answer so far for this problem. I am now to the point where I may just slave the second HD to my Primary IDE cable and install Vista from there, as there is no real alternative available. I already thought about putting my optical drive on the Promise IDE, but the manual specifies that it is not meant for optical drives, so scratch that plan. Anyne have a workaround ? I have so far tried three diffferent drivers so shoot down that theory as well. Help !!
